So the bitching has ceased but the personal attacks have not. I love it! Carry on!

I was wondering how Loyola got off the AAUP censure list. I have only heard second hand about the AAUP Loyola chapter meeting. Can someone who was there fill me in? Thanks in advance.

Get Real

What you are both saying is that you are choosing to work in a place that exploits, sexually assaults and abuses women and the best you can do is complain on a blog?? You are as disgusting as the men you are complaining about.

Wildes Must Go!

This is the Loyola University of Kevin Wildes. His "Pathways Plan" got rid of women primarily. He was especially sure to get rid of those pesky smart women who challenged him. The post-Katrina actions before Pathways also rid the university of staff - mostly all women too.

So what is the fate of the few women who are left on campus? Sexual Harassment? Stalking? Torture? Cruelty? Rape? Murder? I didn't go to the "Take Back the Night" event for the first time in many years because I thought it seemed hypocritical to stand in front of Marquette Hall without turning around and walking in to Marquette Hall to take back the university.

What a disgusting Hell Hole.

Baffled in Bobet

I have been following the posts regarding the situation with a Certain Female professor in a Certain Department in Stallings Hall for quite some time. I would like to take this opportunity to send an open letter to the faculty and chair of this department.

Congratulations dear Chair for creating the most dysfunctional academic unit on this campus. You have singlehandedly destroyed an entire department. Your department is home to open sexual abuse of students, sexual harassment, violence, and intimidation. I wonder if you are aware that your strategy to rid your department of the only senior ranking female has incurred criminal behaviors. You are no doubt aware that as the head of your department you will be held legally accountable for the actions of your Man in Black, a man who is so obviously mentally unbalanced that women in Stallings Hall no longer visit in open doorways they are so fearful of this man.

Your Man in Black has committed crimes on campus and as the head of the department you refused the opportunity to terminate this person's employment. Your Man in Black has issued death threats to senior female professors, stalked and harassed other female faculty, entered and ransacked the office of yet another female faculty member. And let us not forget the allegations posted by Alice that your Man in Black has gone to the home of the Certain Female professor in his ongoing attempt to intimidate her. These are all crimes and you are now implicated in his actions. As the department head you have refused on many occasions to rid the college of this menace. Congratulations on a job well done.

As for another pertinent matter. Our Chubby Paisano would be well advised to remain quiet and cease his bad mouthing of the Certain Female professor. Trying to spread lies and speaking foul of your colleagues is not the way to self promote. As a professional you should be aware of the idiocy of bad mouthing a faculty member to students. You do not address university business with students. You are only making yourself look ignorant and foolish.

The Certain Female professor was not terminated. She was never accused of canceling classes or arriving late. None of your alleged allegations have held up among the students ranks. No student ever levied any charges against the Certain Female professor. As to this date no charges against her by your Chair or the Man in Black have held an ounce of legitimacy. They were lies started by an emasculated man and his foolish, mentally unbalanced goon.

You, my friend, are a predator and need to seek help. It is only a matter of time before you are brought up and arrested on rape charges. You are enjoying the protection of the department chair right now but you will come before the faculty for tenure review. We don't need to terminate you because we can easily rid ourselves of your unwanted presence by refusing to grant tenure. However, I do believe you will end up in prison long before your review.

As for the Man in Black. You too are enjoying the protection of the department chair right now. However, your actions in this matter are criminal and will be considered very serious by legal experts. The Counsel at Loyola is not capable of handling serious legal matters. She has demonstrated often her inability to act in an ethical, judicious manner in matters pertaining to faculty.

Stalking, harassment, intimidation, breaking into a faculty office, hacking into email accounts of faculty are all criminal. Yes, the administration is fully aware of your hacking into the email account of the Certain Female professor. You will also eventually be held accountable for your behavior.

I have worked at this university for more years than I care to count. Never have I witnessed such barbarous behavior on the part of a male faculty member with respect to his female students and faculty. Trying to eliminate a female member of the faculty because you are fearful that she will grab your position as chair is ludicrous. If you acted as a professional you would not have such concerns and would enjoy the respect of your students and faculty. Sitting idle while a male faculty in your department sexually abuses female students is an unspeakable act of cowardice. If you were a man you would deal with the existing problems in your department by terminating our Chubby Paisano and the Man in Black and bring the Certain Female back. She is the only senior ranking tenured member of the faculty in your department yet you hate her because she is intelligent and successful. I would guess the word hate is erroneous as you would most probably have a considerable amount of fear of any intelligent successful woman.

You nee to grow up and deal with this situation. You are implicated due to your status as Chair and will face the same, or harsher, penalties if or when this matter lands in the courts. How will you justify your behavior when asked why you failed to intervene on behalf of the female students and Certain Female professor?

I have worked at this university a long time but lately I am embarrassed to tell people where I am employed. Where is the social justice for the females of Stallings Hall? Even I am nervous entering that building under the current conditions. Is the administration waiting for another Virginia Tech incident?

Kevin Who?

So did you see that James Patterson, the world’s best-selling novelist, features Tulane University President Scott Cowen in his latest book Cross Fire that was released today? The dedication in the book reads,
"“For Scott Cowen, the president of Tulane University and a New Orleans hero, whose inspired leadership and Herculean efforts helped secure a brighter future for both Tulane and New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.”

When asked why he didn't include that man among men Kevin Wildes, Patterson reportedly said, "Kevin Who?"

Laughing Out Loud

I heard that at the Senate meeting last week someone asked about AAUP Censure and Wildes popped up and said, "I can answer that. Now that the lawsuits are all settled we'll be able to get the censure lifted." I have one thing to say about that: HA! It ain't that easy, Kevvy. You screwed up big time.

Et tu, Brute!

The final Katrina lawsuit has been settled:

http://www.loyolamaroon.com/loyola-seeks-to-settle-final-tenure-suit-1.2402103

Two very interesting paragraphs:

"Judge Michael G. Bagneris decided not to rule on any motions to suppress evidence until the first day of trial, according to Moore. According to chapter nine of the faculty handbook, tenured faculty can only be terminated if the programs in which they taught were dismissed. In order to lower overhead, the university dismissed various academic programs ranging from broadcast communication to physics and education to computer science.

Some of these programs have been reinstated since then, yet others could not because the very basis of the university's argument in court was that firing tenured professors was due to the dismissal of the programs in which they taught. If the university brought these programs back before the conclusion of the trials, then they would be forced to either concede defeat in court or rehire the former professors."

How much did the university spend on all their lawyers, consultants, et al.? They claimed $11 million saved by terminating faculty. When you add up the legal fees, settlements, and lost revenue from the programs terminated, lost good will from faculty, lost donations from alumni, faculty and friends, WAS IT WORTH IT?

Please tell me, W, was it worth it?

IOKIYAKW (It's OK If You Are Kevin Wildes)

Let me see if I have this right.

A female faculty member is on seemingly permanent suspension, denied access to her office and campus, denied due process according to the procedures outlined in our contracts. She is getting paid? Who is covering her classes? Is this salary being paid over and above her salary?

AND a staff member led off campus by the FBI for fraud (?) is back at work as if nothing happened? Was s/he charged with a crime? If so, why is this person back on campus? Awaiting trial?

What is WRONG with this picture?

Alice in Loonyland

Realist, you are wrong. Absolutely wrong. If the majority of people in this nation thought like you women would still be property and African Americans would still be on the plantations. Our society has evolved because the majority of people do not agree with you. Thank heavens for that.

The purpose of my post is not to berate someone for speaking their mind but to pass along some unbelievable news.

I was wrong in some of my earlier posts. The female professor in question has not been officially fired. She is still employed by Loyola and is still getting paid. The unbelievable thing is that the administration refuses to allow her to teach or to do her job.

I listen very well and I have ways of obtaining information. Our female professor from a certain department in Stallings Hall was barred from campus after her meltdown in the fall. She did nothing wrong and is evidently not linked to any bad behavior in her classes. From what I have learned her students love her and continue to ask questions about her absence.

From what I can follow the female professor in question was beginning to make waves about her ill treatment and ask questions about the constant absence of the chair of the department. I can speak from experience that the chair of this department never comes to work. He allows his man in black to run the department. I remember last spring and fall semester where weeks would pass and the chair of this department would be completely absent.

I guess from what I have heard and read that the chair of this certain department was afraid last semester that the female professor was going to bring attention to his routine absences, unusual grading methods and force him out of the chair position. He had been heard repeatedly saying that there was no way he would allow a female to sit as chair of his department.

The chair and his man in black wanted to make sure the female professor was out of the picture. The trashing of her office was meant to scare her into silence and put her in her place. When that didn't work the chair had a junior male faculty member promoted when the female was the only available candidate. This was another tactic to shut her up and make her mind her place.

When that didn't work the chair and his man in black with the help of a high ranking female vice provost whose identity will remain nameless decided that the only way to totally get rid of the female in question was to accuse her of carrying a weapon on campus.

For those of you who work in Stallings Hall I hope you can smile at the irony behind the well known fact that the man in black carries a large knife in an unconcealed sheath hanging from his belt. Just take a look at the man in black the next time you see him, if he is not on vacation, and you will see a black leather pouch hanging from his belt. Inside is a large flip open style knife.

The charges against the female professor were obviously laughable and held no truth. This is where it begins to get interesting.

The female professor has been barred from campus but is still employed and getting paid. I saw her at Rouses this past weekend but did not speak to her because I didn't want her to be seen with me. I didn't want to bring attention to her or me.

The reason she has not been allowed to teach or come to campus is because the chair of her department is scared she knows something about the departmental finances. I tried to hear a conversation between the man in black and the chair but could only catch part of it. I don't want to spread rumors or gossip so I will only say what I actually heard.

The chair and the man in black were talking about the need to permanently get rid of the female professor because they were afraid she knew something about the departmental finances. That is all I heard. The man in black said he would take care of it.

This is the best part. A letter arrived recently from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charging Loyola and the chair with some very serious legal violations. The case will be formally investigated by the federal government because of the severity of the charges. I guess the harassment of the female professor has extended to her home in the attempt to scare her away.

Has anyone seen the chair or the man in black recently? I love when I run into the man in black. I think he has gone mental. With the beard and the black clothing he looks just like one of those school shooters you see in the news. Maybe he is trying his grizzly adams impression.

In other news from the college of societal knowledge, a certain young male professor with a paisano name told his assistant that if she wanted to get a good grade in his class she would need to provide some favors of a certain kind. The young woman is beside herself with worry. She has been seen leaving his office more than once in tears.

Since the faculty of Loyola don't have the backbone to step in and demand action in this instance and bring a stop to the behaviors of the chair, the man in black, and our chubby paisano I only hope the eeoc can bring attention to the case. I have said it before but what is it going to take a rape or a murder before someone has the nerve to step up and say no?

The Jesuit brothers who have been martyred would be ashamed to say Loyola was a Jesuit university. The only thing Jesuit about Loyola is nothing.

Realist

We are all victims at one time or another. Such is life.

Sarah Flower

It seems that serious prayer is needed for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to lead us into truth and justice for the victims.

WIAFI

Congratulations to the Physics Department that almost wasn't. Remember Pathways? Remember "they" wanted to suspend this department and how the faculty managed to get "them" to keep it? Then "they" bragged about how this program got off its 2 year suspension a year early, thanks to "them"?

WILDES and his minions MUST go!!!!!

IOKIYAKW (It's OK If You Are Kevin Wildes)

It's already been done at LSU. For Loyola's administrators to do it, it will have to be done at Tulane first. If history shows anything, it is that Loyola's administration copies everything that Tulane does.

Well, there is one exception. Tulane's president worked with the AAUP to get off the censure list.
